1969 Mercury Montego 3 speed V8 automatic transmission

1965 Ford Mustang V6 automatic

1984 Jaguar XJS V12 automatic

1969 Oldsmobile Toronado V8 automatic

I will be doing mainly city driving, but if someone could give me approximate mileage for any of the four cars that will be better than what I have now, because from what I have found on the internet they don't have very good records from cars in this era.

  1. Any V8 eats fuel, V12 even more.   1965 Mustang did not have a V6(was not invented yet)  It would have come out with a straight 6(inline) stock, which was a hog on fuel too. or a 289V8

  2. the '65 mustang never had a v6. only an inline 6 ' it will be the best ( obviously) the others will get 10-14 mpg max in the city because of all the stop and go. the Toronado will get the worst as it is really heavy. maybe look for something with a 6 cylinder ( the old dodge and plymouth slant 6 engine is pretty much bulletproof as well )  I think the Mustang with a 6 cylinder will be about 16-18 mpg in the city.
