I am looking for a City in England that has developed from dereliction...any ideas?

I mean, parts of London are obvious, but I'd like somewhere up North. Suggestions? (It's to research about)

Just think of all the dumps up north, and each will have come a long way over the last 20 years.

Liverpool

Manchester

Hull

Leeds

Bradford

Middlesbrough

etc

Plymouth, mostly rebuilt after ww2

Coventry was virtually obliterated by the Luftwaffe in world war 2. Much of it was rebuilt in the 50s and 60s its most famous building is its cathedral which was opened in the 60s next to the shell of the old cathedral
