I don't need help with enlistment waivers (these are not a problem), but it is time to write my hand written statements for waivers to get into a specific rating. I know there is no magical way to do this, but I would like to be able to make contact with someone who may have approved waivers, or at least dealt with them. My waivers need to go to the national level for these ratings(NUC, AEF, AEFCF) and I know that they can be tough to get approved. I really want to hit a home run when I write them, so any info is good info. I know the basics of how the waiver system works and am looking for specifics and tips. Any postings will be appreciated and emails will be appreciated even more. I have done quite a bit of research, and I can provide specifics on the waivers I need through email. Thanks

  1. I am assuming since you are concerned with the wording of the waiver it is related to bad conduct. Drugs, police record, that sort of thing. My experience with waivers on those lines while I was a recruiter were that sincerity, recognition of the mistake, taking ownership for the mistake, stating the Navy's policy on the infraction, and most importantly that you regret doing it and request that your mistake, which will never happen again, does not prevent you from accomplishing your dream of serving in the nuclear/advanced electronics field of the US Navy.

just remember, they can tell if you don't really mean it. If you get accepted they will be spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on your training and be setting you up for a civilian job that starts at over a six figure income. Not to mention the level of security clearance they will have to trust you with. I would get on my knees and grovel for that kind of opportunity. Good luck to you.
