  1. I think the spelling is allegheny.  Try a yahoo search on "allegheny steam engine."  There are lots of sites.  You could try doing a photo search on the same terms.


  2. Here is one website which has the history of the Allegheny.

    I far as I was reading the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad was the main railroad that bought this locomotive.  I haven't found anything about the Pennsylvania RR purchasing this locomotive.

    A second source has also verified the Allegheny was a C&O steam engine with a 2-6-6-6 wheel arrangement!  This came from a book at the following website:
