  1. Definately Carnival.  They are probably the cheapest cruise line around, in my experience, at least.  I booked an interior stateroom on my last cruise and was upgraded for free (and much to my surprise) to an oceanview.  You won't be spending much time in the stateroom anyways, so if its a great deal cheaper to book the interior, I would just do that, they're usually just as roomy and nice.  Good luck!! I was proposed to on a cruise to Bermuda (Celebrity Cruise Line) by my first husband....hope yours works out better!!

  2. Hopefully at least one of you is at 21 years old or NO CRUISE.

Carnival is probably your best bet for an inexpensive cruise.  I would suggest just a short cruise to the Bahamas and back to Florida.

  3. What port do you want to leave from?

I know some websites where you can get them cheap.

  4. First of all, you are so sweet for making this proposal so special!  A great site to go to is http://www.ticketsavvy.com , you will save some money by going through them.  Have a great time!  How could she say no!??! :)

  5. i went on a 3 day cruise to bahamas for our honey moon i think with taxes it came to around 750 or so. and we had a oceanview cabin. Which is really cheap...sometimes they have good sales. ive seen cruises advertised for 200 a person.

i have found carnival to be one of the cheaper deals and its fun for the younger crowd. but dont let that stop you shop around...try cheapcruises.com i saw some good prices on that site be4.

  6. CARNIVAL Cruise to the Bahamas (departs out of Norfolk, VA)

Very inexpensive and extremely wonderful vacation.  Make sure you both have your passports.  My husband and I did this for our honeymoon and I could not ever imagine a more romantic 6 days!  We signed up for snorkeling as well (off the ship excursion)...very fun!  The whole thing cost about $1500 each with a beautiful balcony suite and included all meals and shows.

  7. CARNIVAL??? Gag!!! Choose Princess or Royal Caribbean. Celebrity is wonderful, but more for old people.  Like me. If you shop carefully, you should be able to find a cruise for about $100 a night.  Each. Also you need to make sure you have money to tip your waiter, head waiter and your room attendant.  That is about the only money they make and tips are EXPECTED. Contact the cruise line to see what the suggested tip is.  The people really earn it, so don't feel bad

    about it.

If you are prone to seasickness, try to sail between Nov. and Mar. The sea is smoother then. Your cruise time is so close, you may be able to get a deal.  Good luck.If you have never cruised before, Carnival would probably be OK.  I wouldn't pay for it, but you might like it.

And YES!  You have to be 21.

  8. Believe it or not, my wife and I booked a 4-day cruise to Cozumel, departing from New Orleans, last January for around $250 apiece, right on Carnival's website...don't think that you need to involve a third party company to get a deal.

As a matter of fact, my wife saw, on a later date after we had booked, that Carnival had dropped the ticket price on their website to $229 apiece...she called them and they lowered our ticket price to $229!  So, for around $460 total for both tickets, we were on the ship (inside stateroom, but you won't spend much time there anyway).  Does a 4-day cruise get any better than that?

I don't know how far a drive or flight you'd have to get to New  Orleans, but, if you've never been, New Orleans would be a neat place to show her for a day or two, before you boarded your ship.

If either of you doesn't have passports, I suggest you head to the Post Office now and get that taken care of--they're not very expensive at all, but it'll take some time to get them delivered once you do the application.

Hope this helps, and have a fantastic trip!

  9. Congratulations on finding the lady you want to be with!

A Carnival or RCI 3-4 night cruise to the Bahamas is definitely going to be a lower-cost option, and they are good quality.  (Avoid the really cheap-o scams like Imperial ... *shudder*)

But there are some other important factors in getting a great deal:

    - WHEN you go.  Avoid the summer and school vacations because that drives up demand.  You'll have better luck getting bargains in February, March, October and November.

    - HOW you book.  Go for an online discounter with a best-price guarantee.

    - WHERE you go and where you live.  Caribbean is always the cheapest (lots of competition) but if you live on the west coast the flight might increase the cost a lot.  So you might do better overall to take a cruise near you

There's more information in this article on choosing a cruise for the best price:

    http://www.cruisesavvy.com/savvyguide/ch...

It also has links to other factors in picking a cruise (activities, style of service, etc.)

    Hope this helps!

  10. A good budget cruise line is Carnival. They have some of the best rates around. Go to "Vacations To Go.com" for some great rates and deals. They offer some of the cheapest rates around. You idea is a great way to propose to you future fiance. Really cool!
