Why?

This breed is very powerful and needs an owner who can train it properly.

I can't imagine why anyone would want such a dog - it is not a breed for the average person.

If you insist on this, be very, very careful about the bloodline - these dogs come from a very small genetic pool in this country and have been seriously misbred already.

Think this over carefully.

If you are looking for a pet quality pup..then try Petfinder.com first.

If you have no luck here, just research breeders and corso forums worldwide to find the line that suits you best.  Most will ship, so location is not an issue.

www.canecorso.org is a great start. Cane Corso Association of America is probably the best place to start if you are looking for a well-bred corso.

I currently own a corso that I purchased out of NY. I would contact one of the organizations for this breed and see if they have any listings of responsible breeders in your area but I wouldn't limit myself to just where you live if there isn't any responsible breeders.

These dogs are a dominant breed and aren't for everyone but that doesn't mean without the proper training and socializing they can't be great family member.

As for the small gene poole I think more research needs to be done as while there used to be a limited gene pool for the breed there are so many kennels that are bringing in imports so the gene pool has infact expanded quite bit.
