  1. "don't have to be new" no kinding you'll never find a new board thats 100 bucks. try craigs list---http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.ht...

  2. Surfing is an ocean sport. before you decide to surf, decide to know and understand the ocean. Learn to be at home with its currents, rips, undertows and sometimes BIG waves.

Go to a good surf shop (not a bathing suit store that sells some surfboards). The folks there can hook you up with lessons, and even rent you a board to learn on. Just work on your basics, and after you feel good, think about buying a board, but don't rush into anything.

You can't get a real surfboard for $100. unless it's a total piece of s%#t. Surfshops sell off their rentals at the end of Summer but that's three months from now. If you buy anything on-line, you might as well just burn the money in your barbecue.

I paid that much for a surfboard in the '66. You need a financial reality check, and some real good luck.
