Burlington, VT - walk around on church street, go on the ethan allen cruise, hangout by the waterfront.  If you go east from Burlington you can hike Mt. Mansfield or Camel's Hump.  Or drive down to Waterbury and visit the Ben & Jerry's Factory, they give tours and free samples!

Keene New Hampshire Is beautiful in the fall. You can climb Mount Manadnock, if you're in pretty fair shape. You don't need any mountain climbing experience,Its tourist friendly.It's a very beautiful place.Just an idea, My whole family enjoyed the area.
