I wanted to know the difference between a 4 stroke and a 2 stroke dirt bike. I am looking at getting a 125cc and i want one that takes gasoline only, not the gas/oil mixture. I am looking to start riding next year, so i'm trying to save up now for the bike. It looks like all 125cc come in 2 stroke only and I don't know if that has anything to do with the gasoline or not, so please help me find one that just runs on regular gas.

  1. All of the Kawasaki KLX models are 4 strokes.  Same with the Honda CRF series.  Look at the Yamaha TT-E125.

  2. crf125r or ttr125 a good or klx125

  3. A 2 troke the oil is mixed with the gas to lub the engine, in a 4 stroke the oil in IN the engine lubing it. With a 2 stroke you don't have to ever change the oil b/c there isn't any to change, it s burnt up with the gas. I am not aware of a 125cc dirtbike that is a 4 stroke b/c the engine is so small there really isn't any room for the oil to be stored so that is y they are 2 stroke. (this is as simple as I can put it there are lots more differences between 2 and 4 stroke engines)  What you can look into is a 2 stroke with oil injection. Basically what oil injection does is you put the 2 stroke oil into a oil reserve and the engine mixes the proper amount with the gas and you don't have to mix it. If you need to know more then ask and i'll check back later to see if you have any more questions.

Edit: I don't work wth dirtbikes that much so check the answer above this one to make sure they are 4 stroke.
