I am looking for a free website to search someone's criminal history?

Criminal record is Public Record. In my state it is but I am searching for a differant state then where I live. I no it is public record because I can pay for the info....Just cant get it for free!!!

Some states have a free department of corrections website. You can do a past offender search.

My state have

I doubt you will find one due to Privacy laws and confidentiality, but good luck and im going to keep a watch on this page coz we ve all got someone we'd like to do the sneaky check up on!!

You usually can't do that. You can search the country's current inmates, but only up to 6 months. And it's only for arrests, not necessary convictions. Usually you can see those files at the sheriff's department; but you can only see those if they are for employment/school purposes.

These files are not usually open to the public for privacy reasons.

Most aren't free; I tend to search by state. For example, if you live in Washington, type into google: 'Washington court records' and you should usually be able to type in the person's name.
