I'm not sure exactly where you're at, but the following companies have great reputations in this area:

Look through the yellow pages... call them all and ask for a price.  The most expensive one will be the best.  If you select the cheap one, you'll get the worst one.

I would highly recomend contacting the Michigan society of Professional land Surveyors. They can give you a list of members to choose from. The majority of all reputable surveyor are members to their state societies. This shows that they want to make a difference in their communities and realise that their number one priority is to protect the publics interest. The public being you, the land owner.
