not sure, i am from west coast, but have relatives in philadelphia.   They like a place which is called Friendly's

Most of the coffee places in NE Philly are Dunkin Donuts.  There are some Starbucks, too. Friendly's is a casual restaurant, I wouldn't call it a coffee shop.  There is a place called Cafe Mondo, 8008 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19136

La Cigale is a great spot for coffee. There used to be a few in the city, so look to see which is closest to you. Also, Cosi is a good little place to sit and have coffee/lunch, too.
