I have already looked into Montessori, and I think the curriculum is great. However, I was not comfortable with the security level at either of them. I just walked right into the school no questions asked at one of them. Small children were walking through the halls alone. It's unfortunate because I really like the way the classes seemed to be taught. However, I have also looked at the Goddard school which seemed OK. There is another school in Livonia that I have checked out, but I really don't know what would be the best for my son. He will get bored at a school that just teaches colors, counting, letters...he knows all that, and he gets frustrated when he has to listen to things he already knows. I need something that will be challenging, but where he can be with kids his own age. Anyone have any ideas?

  1. Have you discussed the issue of security with the Montessori programs' directors?  They should take what you say seriously and there might be changes.  Or maybe there were some security measures in place that you were not aware of at the time.

Then you can go back and look again another time.

It sounds like Montessori would be an ideal match.

  2. Why don't you just send in some college applications for the lil tot, too, while you're at it?

It's never too early to start, you know.
