  1. Go take riding lessons first, then talk to the person who owns the stable where you take the lessons, and ask what they recommend for your level of ability & interest.

  2. What do you want it for? English, racing (barrels), showing, what do you want to use it for? Trail riding, a pet, gaming (gymkhana)

You need what is good for you. You are probably a begginner and  Isuggest not getting one until you are experienced enough and know enough about horses that you can figure out your own breed for yourself because you wil know hwta breed for what is best and why.

  3. That really depends on what type of riding you want to do.  Here are some suggestions:

Jumping/Eventing - Thoroughbred, Thoroughbred X, Holsteiner, Trakhener (sp?)

Dressage - Thoroughbred, Thoroughbred X, Fresian, Holsteiner

    Barrel Racing/Cutting/Rodeo - Quarter Horse

Endurance - Arabian, TWH, Rocky Mountain

Trails - TWH, Rocky Mountain, KY Mountain Saddle horse, Paso Fino...something gaited if you want a smooth, comfortable ride where you can cover a lot of ground pretty quickly without running your horse.  And gaited horses don't trot!

    Hope this helps!

  4. Depends on what you want it for, Quarter horses are good cutting horses, barrel racers, but i think you should get a Apaloosa.

  5. What kind  of horse do you like? Do you wat something ike a big pony, or a lean running machine to do endurance or cross-country with?
