I am looking to travel with my husband in January, were both mid twenties and we are looking for a not very expensive hotel to stay in Paris. Also any suggestions on what to visit etc,

My favorite little hotel in Paris is the Hotel St. Andre des Arts at 66 rue St. andre des Arts in the 6th arrondissement. A double will cost you 89 euros. The rooms have modern shower and WC and the price includes a simple breakfast and all taxes.

I've stayed in this hotel dozens of times in the last 30+ years. Its in a perfect location and very friendly.

But be aware. This is not the Holiday in in Omaha. Its in a 300 year old building. There's no elevator, no TV, no minibar, and no room service. If those things are indispensible to you then you'll hate it.

Just to confuse you even more, whenever I need to book a room anywhere I go to www.tripadvisor.com.  It has numerous reviews of hotels throughout the world.  We are going in September and have picked the Hotel de la Motte Picquet.  Excellent reviews for $215/night.  I got the best rate by booking through the hotel directly.
