  1. They are not legally allowed to refuse you a job or fire you because you are pregnant. However we all know it doesn't necessarily work that way. I'd be honest upfront generally your honesty will earn you respect and if not then it's probably not the ideal job anyway. Good luck

  2. When I was interviewing, I let every employer know in the first interview, just to be fair, because it would have a huge effect on them.  Of course, I ended up not getting any of the jobs, but I felt better not wasting their time by concealing it.  I am taking three months off, so it would have been awful to get a new job and then bail for several months almost immediately.

  3. Immediately. They always respect honesty.

  4. it depends on what kind of a job you are looking for.  How much will it affect your work?  Have you been pregnant before, and how does your body handle it?  Have you been very sick?  All of these things need to be considered.  But from personal experience, the sooner you tell your manager the better....it just feels good to get it out!  I didn't tell my district manager until I was like 22 weeks along, and I was soooooo nervous.  Now, I feel much better and don't have to worry about telling her if something goes wrong, and she will be upset.

    Best wishes!!!

  5. When your pregnancy is obvious. This will give you time to get used to the position, for them to get used to you and for you to form relationships with your manager and see what your companies policy is about maternity leave, ect.

The exception to this is if your employer will need to hire someone to replace you while you are on maternity leave. It is best to give them a couple of months heads up but your should be showing by then.

    Best of luck!

  6. Although it is unlawful for an employer to discriminate against pregnancy, most employers will find "some excuse" not to hire someone who they know is pregnant.

If you are still early on in your pregnancy, I would recommend that you don't say anything to anyone until you have either passed probation or begin showing.  Make sure you are not applying for a position that is going to be too strenuous or physically stressful.

  7. You are not required to inform them. But obviously they are going to find out, so I would wait until you are showing (5 months-ish). Only reason I wouldn't tell them prior unless there are duties of your job you can no longer preform. Good Luck.
