Does anyone have a business located in a similar location? On average how many customers do you get on a weekly basis? Do you find it an advantage to be located beside a large super market as oppose to say a location inside a shopping mall?

  1. I have a store and I can tell you that shopping malls get way more traffic year round because it doesn't matter what the weather is like outside. Winter is really slow and you have to expect that. Outside of malls its best if you are a niche or destination boutique style store. Its all about location so wait until you find the right spot no matter how eager you are to start. I can't really give you numbers because it would depend on whether you are selling muffins or jewellry.

  2. It really depends on what kind of business you are considering opening.  Yes, location matters, but you need to think more specifically.  What is the income of the area, the average age, the community aspects?

Remember, there are nice strip malls, and really junky ones too.  Each appeals to a specific market.
