I am looking for a location to throw a party for my boy friend's 30th birthday. I am in Los Angeles, any ideas

We went to an event at a loft but it may be too small. I was thinking about a golf couse but some places say minimum 100 people, we dont have 100 people. I would like a DJ. Any location suggestions will be great. We always do big family dinners and I dont wan to do that. Thanks
