I am not sure if I am going to explain this correctly but here goes. My dad is looking for these bars that go on the wheels of a wheelchair for a person to use to make them go manually. He can't reach the wheels to push on his own and really wants to get these to put on his chair. He told me someone invented them like 10 years ago but they never took off. they are kinda like ski poles (at least that is what they remind me of) that attach to the wheels. Any help would be appreciated.

  1. The patent is at the following, if I read your question correctly:

    http://www.free-patent-search.net/Wheel-...

Here's a site that has what I think you described:

    http://www.abledata.com/abledata.cfm?pag...

Thanks, by the way, for opening my eyes to something that might help some of my clients.

I hope this helps you and your dad.

Sorry I didn't include my search string that turned up the info:

    "wheelchair lever drive modification"

There seem to be other sites that talk about the same idea.

    Take good care of you!
