When we lived in Charlotte, my husband and I spent Sundays at the Wine Vault- a huge patio full of people, families, dogs. We need an afterwork/weekend spot that we can sit and have a few drinks, and is an OK place to bring a child.

  1. I don't know where in Gwinnet you live, however right across in Dekalb county in Tucker there is a great little place called Pufferbelly's on Lawrenceville Highway. It's a huge sports bar in  an old strip shopping center and they used to have a pretty big patio, we went there a lot when my husband's dad was still living. But we haven't been in over a year. Great wings and burgers and a wonderful grilled chicken salad. Yum. The great thing about the Atlanta area is these little places are everywhere, they are just hard to find, we just kind of stumble into them...no pun intended. And we always had our son with from the time he was 5 until present day, and he's 26 now. He doesn't appear damaged by the environment we subjected to.

  2. It's not in Gwinnett, but I recommend PUB 71.

They have an awesome patio and half-price bottles of wine on Sundays

  3. Not to be judgmental but I certainly hope that one of you will not be drinking, especially since you will have a 2 year old with you.

  4. Poor Jamie...don't let these "booze heads" give you any grief!! Clearly, these people don't have kids and don't know how to have ONE glass of wine or ONE margarita while out to eat.

In Houston, hubby and I would relax on the patio at Joe's Crab Shack and watch the kids play on the playground - with our friends and their kids.

I have know idea where to suggest in Gwinnett/Atlanta - but I just had to lend you a little support.

  5. Being a Kid and knowing how impressionable they can be I think you sir are an idiot for drinking with your 2 yo son.

  6. nice enviorment to have a child around --a bunch of drunks find a sitter

  7. amy1272hou is on the right track.  There is a Joe's Crab Shack over on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth at the intersection of Pleasant Hill Road and Sweetwater Road.  There's a Chick-Fil-A Dwarf House and a Krispy Kreme nearby, as well as a Romano's Macaroni Grille, some BBQ place, and a couple of other restaurants.

There is also a Taylor's Sports Bar & Grill in Norcross, located in a shopping center on Beaver Ruin Road, near the intersection of Beaver Ruin and Indian Trail/Lilburn Road.
