  2. No Tengo Idea sorry

  3. OK Valle de Bravo is a village in Mexico State that has been turned into a weekend spot for the upwardly mobile from Mexico City. It is on a manmade lake. Across the lake from Valle de Bravo is the Village of Avándaro. On the outskirts between Valle and Avándaro on the Avándaro side is a waterfall called el Velo de Novia, the Bride's Veil. It's a nice waterfall. I made some photos of my wife posed  by the waterfall and people who saw the photos asked where I got the backdrop!!!!!!! because they couldn't believe it was a real place.

Avándaro is a more exclusive area than Valle de Bravo. The country club and golf club are in Avándaro. There is a hotel there that is all cabins, they are preciously romantic and very comfortable , with fireplaces and the hotel provides wood. This is right next to the golf course at the Avándaro Country Club. There are also two or three upscale hotels on the lake in Valle de Bravo. You can sail on the lake, although I don't know if you can rent a sailboat. There is night-time party-dinner-dance cruise on the lake, hangliding from a bluff over the town and lots of restaurants. One of my faves is one of two floating restaurant on the lake, called Los Pericos. You can also by crafts made by the Mazahua Indians who sell their goods on the town square.

To get to Valle and Avándaro you fly to either Mexico City or Toluca (on Continental Express out of Houston) and take a bus. In Mexico City the bus would be from the Observatorio Bus Terminal and from Toluca it would be from the Central Camionero.

Or if you rent a vehicle you drive from Mexico City to Toluca. From Toluca you take the highway from Mexico and stay on the Paseo Tollocan, when you approach a ramp where you see a strange sculpture that looks like either two freaky giraffes made of concrete you get on the ramp and stay in the middle lane. From there you follow the signs to Valle de Bravo. If you miss your turnoff ( a distinct possibility because these things are not well marked in Mexico) just stay on the same road until you see the University campus on your right and have to go through a terrifting traffic circle. Once you get through the traffic circle stick to the right lane and you will cross a bridge. Immediately crossing the bridge there is an exit ramp, go down the ramp ( a very tight clover leaf) and this puts you on Avenida Adolfo López Mateos. Stay on this six lane road and within ten miles you will see signs for Valle de Bravo follow the signs it is about an hour and a half drive, depending on traffic.

The photo links below are not my photos but I found them on the web.

I live in Toluca, Mexico State and go fairly often to Valle de Bravo for fun and work.

Oops! I answered a couple days ago and I just remembered, there is a monarch butterfly sanctuary near Valled de Bravo-Avándaro. If you visit between November and end of February you can see literally millions of butterflies there.

    Have a nice time!
