  1. im having mine at a hotel/marina. the hotel has a few garden areas looking out over the marina where our ceremony will be held, than about 50 feet away is the banquet room where the reception will be held. this is great for my out of town relatives because not only do they not have to drive to the reception, but they can also just stay in one of the hotel rooms for the night. another bonus was that the hotel offers so many packages that include all the food, drinks, table decorations & linens, flowers and even the cake...it has left me with very little planning i have to do myself!

  2. Not sure I understand fully. Thinking maybe you want your guests to come to the ceremony and then be at the same location for the reception, where alcohol will be served, so you want them to spend the night so nobody is driving home?

Since you did not mention where you live, one can only give general feedback, as some already mentioned, hotels, resorts, are good places and quite popular and normal for weddings. Phone around a few nicer hotels in the area you want to get married, and find out if they do weddings. Also go to a site like theknot.com to research what you need to know to ask your venue and vendors, contractual obligations, fine print stuff, legalities, deposits etc. It is your responsibility to know what's included and what is extra before you sign on the dotted line. If they don't offer something (information), ask. Like damage deposit, when to pay deposit, how many hours, what food or entertainment is allowed, and what they provide. Do they allow confetti or such things being thrown? Decorating-what's allowed, how soon before you can get in to decorate, or your wedding planner, liquor licenses and allowances. Lots of questions, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Hotels sell group rates when you book above a certain number of people/rooms, so check into this so you can indicate this on your RSVPs, what hotel you have reserved for the wedding and that you have a block of rooms reserved, so people can book rooms.

  3. the novotel

  4. Well without your location we can't give you anything exact. But many banquet facilities have areas where you can hold your ceremony.

  5. In a hotel.

  6. depending on where you live some restaurants have nice areas where they hold ceremonies and receptions, you can also use a winery (that's a beautiful setting)

  7. like others said  in a hotel  some have nice out side gardens you can use.

  8. We're doing that ourselves (both somewhat hippies, so the green aspect appeals to us). However, we're having it at my church, so I can't advise you on what would work for a secular setting. A lot of places that specialize in wedding receptions also have a location for ceremonies there. The wedding reception I went to recently was in a hotel with about 8 rooms for receptions and 2 chapels for weddings.

  9. Where are you located?

  10. where?

  11. Try a hotel.  Many hotels have "banquet" or meeting rooms that you can rent out.  You can use one room for the ceremony and an adjoining room for the reception.  Be sure and check with the hotel on policies of outside food and drink coming in, especially if you plan on having alcohol served.
