A relative lived in Korea for a year and had this dish which he raves about. Have no idea what it is or how to make it. Can anyone tell me what it is called or how to make it? Thanks!

  1. I am a former chef and it sounds more like Bim-Bi-Bap, I have this quite alot when I go to the Korean shopping district here in Toronto, between it, Pork Bone soup, Bul-go-ghi and other very tastey dishes, and I have had the kimchi fried rice the first fellow mentions also.

There are many Bim-Bi-Bap recipes on the net, the name your grandmother said is more a regional dish and reference, from what I have been told.

  2. Could this be it?

    Kimchi Bokkeumbap (Kimchi Fried Rice)

Korean housewives found that a useful way to use soured kimchi was to fry it, adding meat (mostly ground beef or shrimp), other vegetables, and some steamed rice. It is often served with a fried egg on top.
