It sounds like soup-ra-sotti I have only seen it made in Rhode Island. Please let me know if you can be of any help. Thanks in advance

  4. They seem to have different names for sausages in Rhode Island - like they call chorizo "cherise".

    The main Portuguese sausage is called linguica, but they may call it something different in R.I.

    I got it - it's called "soppresata" or "sopressata" - but in Rhode Island some places just call it "soupy".

    It's an Italian salami made from cured-dry pork and flavored with black peppercorns. This meat cures between 6-8 weeks [air-dried]. It comes in hot and sweet flavors. It is also made with either ground black pepper or red pepper.
