I am looking for a short story I read 10 years ago, does anyone know it?

when I was in 6th grade I read a book sort of like the chicken soup series, but I think it was a different series. In the book I read a section on either "death" "love" or "friendship". There was a story about 2 friends who played in a sand box and made sand castles, and talked about how one day they would make a castle together. Well years passed and the one friend developed a deadly disease and to make a long story short the 2 friends met up one night in the sand box they used to play in and talked about their Castle in the Sky, the next day I think the dying friend passed away. I have been lookinf for this story for years and I cant find it. can anyone help?

How depressing. This is why I don't read those stories. Yuck.
