I am looking for a small FM tranmitter to cover a 1 square mile area. Any suggestions?

Looking to brodcast in a private club setting in the rocky mountains. no FCC lincence prefered but must remain 100% legal

  1. I would look at Ramsey Electronics.  The sell small AM and FM transmitters for what you are talking about.  I'm not sure what the FCC regs are, you would have to check.


  2. Have a feeling that you will be fighting with the FCC unless you live in the middle of nowhere.  Something to go that far would probably have to be more than 1/4 watt and would be illegal without a license.  Gonna have to check into that one.

  3. Anything over 250 mW (1/4 watt) needs a license.  But you can get a low power license without a lot of hassle.  Go to fcc.gov and check for the rules on low power FM stations.  .
