the thing your looking for.. and I don't know what it's called can be purchased at just about any Cuban, or Mexican market. There even widely used throughout the Caribbean. In Puerto Rico there used to make "Toasttones" I didn't spell that right but there fried plantains or bananas. In Mexico they use them to make tortillas. Hope this was helpful
