  1. its not very practical 4 a washing machine unless u have a very large freshwater tank, which i dont think you will have on a 40ft. boat.

try the daily express helpline, (iv,e seen one advertised) for a hand washer, non-electric, drum type washing machine. it took up very little space and was hand filled with a plug for emptying.

sorry cant be more specific but it does really depend on fresh water supply for your answer.

maybe try a caravan shop for an answer?

  2. i work in the rv business. alot of thing for boats are for rv's. they have  washer/dry combo called "splendid" but you would have to call around to find a used one for sale. also note they only do very small loads.

  3. try www.argos.co.uk or www.currys.co.uk either one will have the one you would like

  4. Have you tried your local Chandlers?

There may be some on display at the NEC Boat, caravan, camping show next month.

I've never taken much notice of them because I do hand washing and big items in Marina or Town launderettes.

  5. I hope that you have a very large water tank, on most boats you would run the freshwater out in about one wash.

  6. Google Nordhavn Garage Sale.  They have a unit that is made for boats for sale at a great price.  They are located in California.

  7. you can buy hand operated ones,or get yourself a woman you get the cloths dried as-well

  8. We have a Jeanneau 45.1 (45-foot) on which we live permanently. Naturally we have a washing machine! It's a Whirlpool (AWT5088/3 is the model number) and it's a top-loader, 85mm high, 42mm wide and 67mm deep. I've got it fitted on sliding rollers in a spare cupboard next to the galley. You slide it out to load/unload and slide it back in when it's running. Max load is 5kg. It uses about 60 litres of water per cycle (doesn't seem to matter which cycle you choose). We have a Honda 2kw generator to run the washer at anchor.

  9. Have you tried Ebay ,, i used to go camping and got a table top washing machine for our long holidays .I found it very good and very compact and easy to travel with ,,hope this helps ,,good luck
