Trip for 4 in 70's 2010 season. Want somewhat smaller boat. Hundreds of passangers rather than thousands. 7 day cruise preferred. Depart from U.S. or Canada. Air fare not needed.

  1. If you are looking for a great experience go with Celebrity. They have Mercury out of Seattle. All of the other CL are big but if your party is in their 70s, Holland America Line is something where they will have people their age. Enrichment lessons, Culinary Art Center, Celebrity Chefs...

  2. This might not be at all what you're looking for but, the Alaska Marine Highway System is the best way to see the southern coast of Alaska on a budget. Since the ferry system is transportation oriented, you may not get the pampering or luxury amenities that the cruise lines offer. If you're willing to rough it a little, then the AMHS can save you a lot of money and offer a wonderful, and custom tailored experience of Southern Alaska. This is the way many Alaskans choose to see their state.

  3. Ships that small are going to be found in the "luxury" lines and will be very expensive, if any of them do go to Alaska.

Celebrity is a very nice cruise line, as is Holland America, and some of their ships are on the smaller side for mainstream/premium lines.

You could try VacationsToGo.com.  Search their Alaska section.

  4. How about the Ocean Princess (formerly Tahitian Princess)? It holds 700 and is not as costly as Cruise West or some of the other smaller ships. I'll be happy to help you with that.
