  1. Just to give you an idea, I estimate that for everyday expenses, you can live on 700 euro/month (about $900) in central Paris (transportation 20-60, food 200 (only grocery-bought), housing 400 (apt share), entertainment 50), possibly much less if you find cheap accommodations. Anywhere other than Paris will be cheaper. The entertainment budget is so low because there are alot of fun, free things to do, free or reduced admission for students under 26. This is esp. true in Paris because of its wealth of culture and attractions.

The most expensive items in your budget will be the study program, the plane ticket, and accommodations, which likely will be arranged through the program, given you're under 18.

I know this isn't what you were looking for, but I didn't want you to dispair over the cost. :) Hope you have a good summer here!

  2. Cheap is the operative word here.

That's a bit difficult...expensive..i.e. $7000+ is easy... The University of Paris for example has a summer program. Their website is here: http://www.aifsabroad.com/css/paris/inde...

You might try getting an au pair job..which is a type of glorified babysitter (in case you don't know) Here's one of many websites describing this: http://www.workingabroad.org/aupair/aupa...

You could just try to convince your parental units to let you just go to Paris (tell them you'll spend all your time in museums absorbing great art) . A month in Paris on the cheap (staying in a youth hostel, eating in student canteens (which you can do with an international student card) can be done fairly cheaply...say $2500 for a month (not counting airfare)...maybe less (its been a long time since I really worried about saving money.)
