I have a utility room backing on to my bath room I am putting a shower in and want to know if I can run the wire that connects the electrics from my utility room ring main socket to a spur in the bathroom in order to connect the electrics for the shower.

Thanks for your help.

  1. you can not run a shower from a ring main. A shower must have its own 10mm twin & earth cable from the consumer unit with a 45amp RCD if it is a 8.5Kw shower

  2. I don't live in your area, that's obvious, but yes........would be nice to know how much load you have on that circuit.....and wiring around a shower is dangerous....so be careful and have a GFCI in line. Thats a ground fault circuit interuptor....so if you get shocked it will blow a fuse or kick a breaker and keep you from dieing........good luck.
