I am looking for an affordable and readily available miniature wargame on a large scale can you help?

i am looking for somthing in print and at an affordable price(20$ to 40$ to start and cheap expansions) on a lorge battle scale(open war for instance 5-50 men per peice)

If you don't mind playing with little cardboard pieces rather than plastic men, Avalon Hill has a great set of war games.  Many of these can be purchased at garage sales and flea markets very cheaply.  Many of the games, like Panzer Blitz and Panzer Leader, can be combined to create an enormous battle field.
