  1. I know two ways to make this but i dont have real measurements.

My grandmother made it this way:

Put milk in a pan and heated it

When it was still cool enough to put your fingers she would tear up bits of bread (like one slice inot about 6 pieces) and throw them in the pot. Then she would add sugar and bring it all to the boil (you want the bread to soak up the milk but not so much that the bread stick and burns). She usually started with a little bit of milk and added more as she needed it depending on how much bread she had. The same for sugar she would add it to taste. Just skim off a bit of the milk and if it sweet enough for you there enough sugar. Too sweet add more bread and milk.. Then she would let it cool a bit and put it in the oven until it was brown on top.

My mother made it a similar way:

She cut the crusts off the bread (my grandmother didnt do this and im not sure if my mother only did it for me). She sprinkled sugar on each slice and then laired the slices in a dish . She pured milk over them until they were soaked and put it in the oven until it was browned on top.

My grandmother used to add cinnamon too (but not for me i didnt like it).

Also its best if the bread is stale.

  2. Could this be it?

  3. Goody is an Irish pudding-like dish made by boiling bread in milk with sugar and spices. I cant locate a recipe though.
