  1. we give my dog Eukanuba or whatever it's called. it's supposed to be good for their hearts.

  2. canidae is the best choice of dog food for any dog of any age

can only be found in locally owned pet shops/stores

please do not feed purina, beneful etc. --> as these are really bad foods  *anything from grocery stores or petstores are bad...

theres a link on my home page / profile page that you can click to find a store near you that carries canidae

  3. Canidae is a good kibble that is not too expensive. It has a good ingredient list and it is grain-free.

I have a Shiba Inu who is pretty picky with his food. Some things you can try to make his food more interesting:

    1. Add some bits of cheese or bacon bits into his kibble.

    2. Add some water to the kibble to bring out the flavor.

    3. Mix a bit of wet food into the kibble.

    4. Get some dog food gravy to put on his kibble.

This site has more on what to look for when choosing a kibble brand:

  4. I feed my dogs proplan. You can get it at petco and it comes in a couple of varieties. For your dog you would probably get adult-small breed.

It is relatively cheap but it's not poor quality.

  5. I had a little poodle and i fed him kibbles and bits for small dogs and he loved it.It was little enough and tasty enough and he was happy and healthy till he passed from old age..

  6. I use Canidae All Stages for my 3 they love it and look great.

  7. Purina is a very good brand and has good nutrients you can get a small bag for 8 to 10 dollars and it shoul last for a Chihuahua

  8. so you only have one small dog....right?

I would splurge on a food,  like Wellness Core...I have 5 dogs and I foster, not had a dog to turn it down yet!!

  9. Well I have two dogs and I have been feeding them Hill's Science Diet for 6 years and they seem to like it.

  10. I have a 5 year old who is not a fan of food in general.. but she gobbles down Innova Evo with great joy. I use the Red Meat formula.

They have a "small bites" version which would probably be better for a chihuahua than the regular one.

I have offered her Purina, Iams, Nutro, Solid Gold, and many others, but she perfers Evo to all of those.

  11. I feed my dog California natural. They have a small bites size. I reccomend mixing in some salmon oil even if your dog does like it eaten alone too just to add some omega 3's that aren't plant based to the diet. a $8.99 5lb bag should last you at least two months especially since you've got a little guy.

Cali natural is made by the same people who make innova.

  12. i have a picky mini poodle and my vet recommended Royal Canin. They have special formulated foods for each breed of dog. mine loves it and has been eating well finally!

    Good Luck!

  13. Not sure on how much you want to spend but all 3 of my dogs love Wellness.  My golden eats Wellness Core and my other 2 eat Wellness senior.  It is available at Petco.  The 6 lb bag of Wellness is around $14.  Also Wellness states that their foods are ethoxyquin free.
