Hi Guys,

I am new in South Australia, could someone gives me some details on Renting procedure in Adelaide, I mean how can I find a suitable furnished flat, and normally what is the tips that should be considered when signing a leasing contract. Is there any limitation on the leasing period i.e. In my original country the landlord stipulates that the lease contract should be at least one year, is this apply on SA leasing contract also? What about the electricity and water bills, normally, who is responsible on them?

Thanks for your help.

  1. My advice is to go to a real estate office in the area you want to live in and ask them about rentals in the area. They would know about any furnished flats if they were available. The signing the lease agreement could also be asked in their office for those details. I believe most people pay per week for rentals, not sure about signing for a year. On the electricity and water bills the tenant (you) would need to pay that as you would be the one using it right?

    Cheers,
