I am looking for help paying my utlitiy bills is there amy where i can find help?

I am writing to ask for help with my electric bill. I have tried to bring it down my self without success and now we are facing the fact that Mississippi Power is coming to disconnect our power. My wife and I both work. She had got injured and was unable to work for a month and that put us in a bind. I know that I should have sought out help at that time but my pride got in the way and now we are in a bind. I hope you can help. And now to make things worse as of 7/21/2008 her mother was digisonegd with cancer, and my mother has to have surgery on Thursday. As the say when it rains it poors.

Call your local welfare or social services office .... they will be able to refer you to someone who will assist you at this time ...

Check with your local church groups, the american red cross and social services.   They will have programs to help you and give you a long term plan to get back on your feet.

Try the Red Cross or the YWCA they have help programs for needy people in my area..I rent properties and they help a lot of people

If both you and your wife are working, chances are the local welfare office isn't going to help.  Have you called the power company to ask for an extension?  If that isn't an option, then call a church.  I would start with a big church.  If they can't help, they should at least have the names and phone numbers of local agencies that can help.    Best of luck to you.
