  1. The Jackson Softecs are very good for beginner skaters. You can get them with a figure skating blade, which is better than a hockey blade for beginners - more stable. Your rink's pro shop should be able to order them for you, or else you can buy them online at places like Rainbo Sports. Cost about $49 US.

But if she's just starting to learn to skate, you can keep her in the rental skates, if they're of decent quality, until she gets past the "march march march dip" stage. You can buy the Jacksons or a similar beginner skate when she's a bit more skilled. That's what I've chosen to do with my daughter.

  2. Contact your local pro shop which you should be able to find on a google search.

I know that Riedell skates come very tiny but not knowing how small your three year old's feet actually are I don't know if they will have them or not.

Sometimes sports shops will have them, too.  But they are usually junky plastic things that wont really give a child any support.  But then they probably don't need too much support...

Also, if you are going someplace that is organized (like not a backyard pond) they may rent little skates for very little money.

  3. I would suggest going to your local ice rink/pro shop and being sized for skates. Depending on what type of skate your are looking for depends on what you may want to look for. If you are looking for a beginning skate I would suggest looking at a Riedell Red Ribbon. The pro shop should be able to help you pick out the best skate for your 3 year old. Good luck!

  4. Ebay

  5. now personal skates you might want to go to your local skating rink or website and talk to the coaches and see if they are selling an old skates. Also you can go on the websites. or just for fun skate might go to the ice rink and just use theirs b/c I am pretty sure they have them for a 3 year old. Good Luck!
