Kansas City Cradle was an adoption agency formed in Kansas City, MO. It became an afiliate of St. Luke's Hospital in 1945, but further information of location of adoption files is unknown. Any assistance would be helpful...a man is looking for surviving biological family members and biological family history. His birth name was ROY ROGERS.

  1. i haven't heard very good things about the cradle adoption agency rings. Google "cradle adoption agency scandal" and see what comes up....

Missouri currently has a bill that is facing adoptee rights and our access to our records, to get involved and read up on it click here:  http://www.senate.mo.gov/08info/house/bi...

It is a fabulous bill in support of adoptee rights that would restore our rights to equality and help us get our original birth certificates AND adoption records. Pretty unheard of so get involved!!

Here are the current missouri laws:

Obtaining Identifying Information: An adopted adult can request information regarding the natural parents and the agency will contact the natural parents for consent to release the information. If the adoption was finalized prior to August 13, 1986, the adoptive parents must be notified first, and a search will only be conducted if the adoptive parents agree. If the adoptive parents do not consent, no information will be released and the natural parents will not be contacted.

Using the Adoption Registry: Adopted adults age 21 or older and natural parents may register. Adoptive parents must consent to the release of identifying information on adoptions completed prior to August 13, 1986.

Just incase anyone else is reading this, these laws are REALLY disrespectful to adoptees, we should not need our aparents signatures for any of the above. We are adults!! We DO NOT NEED OUR PARENTS SIGNATURES FOR OUR OWN RECORDS.

I would also try to see if anything in these links can be of use:

Finding the parents names right now is whats important so search for missouri birth indexes, birth records, termination of parental rights notices in the paper.

I have to go, but if you need more help just contact me through my profile.
