I am looking for more of an explanation rather than an answer.?

I am confused on the question I don't need the answer or anything I just need to understandthe question before i can answer the question. The question is derived from Chapter 14 from the book Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies by Jared Diamond

-How do the institutions of society change over time and how are these changes related to the "agents of conquest", gun, germs, and steel?

I need to understand the question, too.  Your teacher is lazy and/or not really very good.  The question is too vague and broad.

This question is asking you to describe how the society in the book has changed.

An institution can be the hospitals, businesses, police and so on.

Having not read the book I am unsure as to what the "agent of conquest" is, but I am sure you are familiar with the name.

Re-read the book and look for key changes that have happened throughout.
