I am looking for my 1st horse ,5'3 , I started over small jumps at a canter. I would like to show?

For you first horse you are best off loaning before you buy.  Have you taken any stable management lessons as there is a lot more to having a horse than just riding - the mucking out early on cold winter mornings, the expense of the vet, etc.

Ask around at your local stables to see if anyone knows of a good schoolmaster you could try.  Make sure you take a knowledgable horse person along with you when you go to see the horse as they will know what to look for.
