  1. Do you know what adoption agency they went through? That is how I found my parents.

  2. Two organizations that helped me search were ALMA and PACER.   They can tell you how to go about searching.

I searched several years ago and actually found ALMA the more helpful of the two, but good luck.   If you have her name, you're already 1 big step ahead of many adoptees.

    Good Luck!

  3. With a name you have a lot more info than most.  Classmates.com and reunion.com are good places to start because women are listed with their maiden name.  If you believe she stayed in CA, you could try to search for a marriage record.  This site requires a payment but may be worth checking.

If this is more than you want to try, many searcher's have access to many birth, marriage & death indexes.  There is a group of searcher's at G's adoption search that may be able to help.

Register with as many online databases as possible.

    findme.org

    registry.adoption.com

    g's adoption search.

    good luck

Awww, we helped my brother find his mother and sister so they could attend his wedding.  I looked on switchboard.com by searching that name and in the town she lived now.  We knew a lot of information about where she was though and we found them pretty quick too.  I hope you find her I really do!!!  Good Luck to you and keep us updated.
