He left Miami to Peru w/ his girlfriend, (which is originally from Peru) to sell some property. Neither one of them have been heard from since.

Someone, please help me. Our father passed away 7 years ago, and he (my brother) doesn't even know it....I'm assuming.

  1. The best way to find people in Peru ,since public records aren't search able like in the U.S , is to look in the yellow pages. That's how I found my friends in Peru after many years. You just need name or last name of your brother or your brother's girlfriend. www.amarillastelefonica.com.pe  click on white pages (blancas). Good luck!

  2. It is very difficult to find someone after this amount of time.  If his girflriend was Peruvian, they may have married and he got a visa, or they came back and he is in the US.  Those are clearly the best two options.  You should go to the police in both and complete missing perons report.  It will be considered unusual that you waited this long and the effort to locate him will not be as strong as if he had been missing for a few weeks or a month but you can at least pay (ie a bribe) for the police in Peru to work harder and get documents if they exist.  The US police may be able to find if he has entered or left the country, perhaps if he filed tax returns, etc.  Everything is much harder because of the amount of time.  You will best go to authorities instead of these answer boards.

  3. The US Consulate in Peru may know where he is (assuming he is a US citizen).  He may have needed a permit to remain in Peru and they may have a record of it...
