Other than paying a certain amount each month and never seeing it again, what are other options? I heard there is a possibility of getting money sent back over time to the insuree, is this accurate? What are other options?

  1. Insurance is a bet. A bet that you hope to lose. :)

For the lowest price and best value, you should get a term life insurance policy. You will spend a small monthly premium compared to other policies, but if you don't die during the policy term, that money is gone.

That being said, a policy like a Return of Premium policy will enable you get all your premiums back at the end of the term, but you will pay dearly for it. And if you invested that extra cost instead, you would do better when all is said and done.

One way or another, you are going to pay to have someone assume the risk. Any insurance scheme that attempts to convince you that you can get your money back, is ultimately a scam. Term life insurance is always the best value, and the best deal. I should know because I used to sell life insurance for a living.

If you need a term life insurance quote, I recommend this resource:

And there are a number of articles that can help you at this blog:

  2. How old are you?

The younger you are, the better off you MIGHT be with a variable policy.

You should certainly consider an Equity Indexed Universal Life policy.

Open the phone book.  Look under insurance.  Call someone with a CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation.

You will be guided through the process.

If at all possible, avoid term insurance.

    Term terminates.

Whole Life policies last your whole life.  With Dividend Option Three you can really set yourself up for a comfortable retirement.

I doubt if I am licensed in your state, so I lose out.

But you should certainly contact a CLU in your state.

I have the training, but not the designation.
