Are you a "powerful leader" yourself? In order to find and position yourself in front of these leaders, you have to be one.

Becoming one comes through a great process of study and practice.

I personally think you are going to have some trouble.  Network Marketing... that is the bug that draws most hopeful entrepreneurs into the self employment world in the first place.  If they are going to stick around Network Marketing, they will already be affiliated with a program.

HOWEVER... I am not trying to bust your bubble!

The key is to find the right people at the right time.  The ones who have not yet been introduced to Network Marketing.  The ones who cannot find a job (assuming that the buy in price is not to high).

Put up signs at colleges.

Browse around MySpace

Check out craigslist.org (you can place a free ad)

Make sure you are honest with the people upfront.  Let them know what they are getting into, or you are going to spend so much time on them, only for them to eventually stop doing the business.  

Look for the people with the attributes you are looking for, and tell them why they would excel at the job.
