  1. Go to your state's website. They usually have a section about adoption instate. If you are looking for foreign adoptions, I suggest just typing foreign adoptions into a search engine.

  2. We used Adoptions from the Heart.  www.adoptionsfromtheheart.org.  We highly recommend them.

  3. http://www.adopting.com/

    http://www.adoptioncentre.com/

  4. Go to your state's child welfare agency.  You can check the blue pages of your phone book to find the folks to contact.  Or you can Google "foster care" adoption and your state's name to find the info online.  They'll help you with the process.

You can also contact an agency (Lifeline Adoption and Bethany both have great reputations) and domestic adoption programs.

  5. First, please stop calling them kids.  It is a little demeaning to the children.

    Go to www.adoptionattorneys.org

  6. I adopted locally and then I started working for American Adoptions (contract work) and they are wonderful.  I highly recommend them.

    http://www.americanadoptions.com/

Their main office is in Kansas, but they have offices all over the United States.  There are seminars all the time.  Find out where one is in your area or call for pamphlets.

    Good luck!
