  1. yes, Zecco.com allows you to do 10 trades free a month without broker fees.

Also some bank accounts will give you a certain amount free trades a month if you have a lot of money saved with them.  (I know Wells Fargo has plans like this)

  2. No...It costs money do do these things, if you're looking for a free ride you won't find it

  3. The only brokerage right now that offers free trading is Zecco.  However, that doesn't come without fine print.  In order to take advantage of this promotion, Zecco requires its customers to deposit a minimum of $2,500.

Remember though, you get what you pay for.  Zecco has been rated as having the worst customer service and I always also hear that their website is hard to use as well.  I prefer investing with a cheap, but not free, broker.  I currently use Firstrade ( http://www.firstrade.com ) and I've been satisfied with them for years.

  4. I recommend an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or an easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..all the others will charge you fees for trading, but compare and see for yourself. Good luck and happy investing!
