  1. http://www.target.com/Graco-Soft-Trainer...

They also have these at walmart. (probally a little cheaper.) I got one for my daughter and loves it. I take it when ever we go on long trips.

  2. Yeah padded toilet seats are good.  A small step kept in front of the toilet will build his confidence and make him feel grown up.  We kept a toy that cheered on the radiator outside the toilet and let him bang it to hear the applause after each visit.

Potties can be handy for when you night time train though as sometimes it is just too far to the toilet at 3am......!

Keep it light, no pressure and never show annoyance if they have an accident but loads of praise everytime they do it.  Take spare pants and trousers everywhere for the first few weeks.

    Good luck.

  3. a soft padded toilet seat that fits onto a 'real' one

potty is not a practical or logical choice better go straight for a real thing

  4. My son's just about potty trained, and 1 thing i learned is, that chair is really not important! lol as long as it sings, and congratulates them in some form, their happy! i would say, a medium priced one, nothin too cheap but nothin too extremely priced!

  5. i agree with the first answer just get a soft seat that fits the real toilet, it works so much better and then you won't have to switch from a potty chair to a toilet later on

  6. The potties that fit into the real one are more hygienic and much less work on your part. Plus, it's easier for them to learn that you all as a family use the same potty. Best of luck.

  7. Let him pick it out. It peaks interest.

  8. I just asked this same question of a co-worker who has children older than my 23 month old son.

    His advice was:

    1. Get one the child is tall enough to use without risk of falling off steps in the night.

    2. Get one that is portable so that you can take it on road trips or to visit family without interrupting the training.

    3. Make sure it is easy to clean out.

    4. Make sure the construction is solid.

  9. Are you sure he is ready? my heath vistor was explaining to me about a muscle that has to be fully grown before you potty train so he can get the sensation.

My son is 27 months and i have been teaching him about the potty for a couple of month, where he sits on it at night.  Going to try the potty training in august when i am off work.

we brought a Getty soft seat trainer and footstool.  He watches sherk and tells us "not working" (no pee)or "all done"(done pee) where he gets big clap.  The step is good for standing on when washing hands

    hope his helps
