I am looking for travel recommendations in Arizona with a toddler / 1 year old?

We will be traveling to the Phoenix and Sedona areas this Fall with our 1 year old. Can anyone recommend things to do, places to stay and restaurants?

I have a one year old and we live in Phoenix so i hope you have a great visit!

Depending on when you are here in the fall, it'll still be pretty warm while in Phx so pack plenty of water. I always make several little ziplock bags of different snacks to mix it up with my son. Pretzels, crackers, goldfish, grapes, apple slices, etc. If you'll be driving, you may want to look into one of those cool seats that hold ice packs. They are amazing for keeping the carseat cool when you are out of the car.

Arizona has some great parks. I'm not sure if you'll be in Phoenix or surrounding areas, but there are so many families in AZ that parks are everywhere!! Our fav is Tumbleweed in Chandler-SE valley. If you are looking for indoor activities, consider museums like the Childrens Museum of Phx, The Arizona Science Center, Heard Museum, AZ Puppet Theatre, ChildsPlay, etc. I'd say the zoo, botanical gardens, hiking trails, schnepff farms, rawhide, or even the local lakes would be great for out of town visitors.

I agree with Keyboard, the Sedona construction is never-ending and makes it easy to get lost!  Still, it's very beautiful and worth the trip.  There's lots of hikes up there and if you are a hiker you could certainly find some kid friendly hikes.  I've heard of plenty of parent hiking their little ones up some hikes that aren't even that easy (something about their low center of gravity).  Or you could get one of those hiker backpacks that the little one can sit in.

In Phoenix, the Science Museum is a lot of fun.  It is very kid friendly.

One bad thing my wife and I discovered, while in Sedona last weekend, is those stupid roundabouts that the city put in. Horrible...
