Many consider Cowboy Bebop the best anime to come out of Japan... but there is better: Berserk.

Berserk is an anime based upon a manga comic of the same name. Unfortuantly the anime finishes just where the manga story really gets going (lots of rumours of a continuation, but no confirmation).

Despite this Berserk is AWESOME. Characters are cool and the conflicts emotionally and physically are heart wrenching.

Note: It has a lot of violence and semi-nakedness so not really recommended for kids.

Ghost in the shell is excellent, i'd recommend it. Death Note is also really good.

Code Geass- I just got into this show a few weeks ago butI have caught up to the most recent episode in japan. This has got to be the best anime for me it's like death note, full metal panic/alchemist, naruto, bleach, inuyasha, and more all mixed up together to bring out this kick *** show. Best anime for me. Plus the characters are hot!

Vampire Knight- If you love anime you love this show automatically. It covers all the genre's of anime. Plus the manga is awesome as well. So far there are only 13 episodes out. Episode 1-13 are season 1 and season 2 will start in october it's called Vampire Knight Guilty. The manga is on chapter 42 and the next chapter won't come out til september 24th. My favorite chapter 34-36!

Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles- If you loved cardcaptors as a kid. Then you will love this anime/manga. It's a crossover anime that has chracters from cardcaptors, xxholic, x, and more! Very good storyline.

I have a great anime ... Prince of Tennis

It hasn't been ranked that high h**l it hasn't been ranked at all ... but i can assure you it is a great anime about a boy who is trying (at first) to reach his goal to beat his father a former pro at tennis but as the time passes he realizes that his father is not the strongest tennis player ... It is AWESOME ... you should try it ...

i dont know about a series, but anything by studio ghibli is good(most are anime movies) my fave by them are tales of earthsea, spirited away, princes mononoke, and howls moving castle.

"Gankutsuou" is excellent.

"Elfen leid" is pretty good if you don't mind a lot of nudity and violence.

"Code geass" is well into the series (if you like subbed anime) and VERY good if you like actiony/gundam genres. These are just a few.
