our hockey club has just be promoted and bacause we are such a small club we find getting funding and sponsorship difficult, so we thought about trying to raise money for new kit and to help our younger players with the subs and equiptment. I haven't got a clue where to start and wondered if anyone has any advise that could help us get started.

  1. It depends on the age of your hockey club. I know the high schools in this area of Dallas just have the kids standing on the street corners at the school with signs asking for donations to support the hockey team. You’d be surprised how much money they make. People want to support their local teams.

And Sweety Singh is right on with bake sales and car washes. You’re not going to be able to set up a major organization, so “guerrilla” fundraising is your best bet.

Good luck man! I hope you guys get everything you need.

  2. a car wash with hot chicks in bikinis. people pay for that hot stuff

  3. A bake sale or maybe a car wash?

  4. Krispy Kreme Doughnuts has a fundraising program that may be of use to you depending on your location.  Check out their website.

  5. When I played in Detroit, our coach had us do the Little Caesars   frozen pizza kit fundraising.  Its better than most fundraisers and most people buy them cause the pizza isnt that bad. Heres the link:

    http://www.pizzakit.com/

It made us a few thousand, enough to travel to tournaments all over and have spare sticks and equipment.

Another idea is if your area pays for recycling, go door to door and collect pop cans, bottles, etc. In Michigan we got $0.05 a can and made a couple hundred dollars in a few days with the whole team doing it. Good luck

  6. We had a "garage sale" a few years back, it was very successful.  For one thing, as you know with the way-too-many fundraisers out there, co-workers and friends almost seem to run when they see you coming.  A lot of people do garage sales so you're hitting more than just hockey community.
